Week 1 @ SDM

It’s almost the end of my first week @ SDM and so far so good. I’ve done a fair bit of on-site client consulting, which has been interesting as it given some real world exposure to AvePoint. It’s actually the best tool I’ve found on the market for managing MOSS, and as a bonus it does back ups. Also gearing up for a big day tomorrow as we attempt to fix another client’s MOSS server with a complete rebuild and data migration from they’re existing site. We have to come up live for first thing Monday morning so I’m guessing I should have some war stories from this. And don’t worry guys I will be avoiding 3am trips to 7-11 for Red Bull 🙂

I’m booked for a couple of very interesting projects, so I’ve been getting across the requirements on them, they are due to kick off next week. All in all I’m really enjoying the ride, it’s great to be back in the rhythm of a busy place again.

Vista SP1 Available to MSDN Subscribers

It’s here at last, for those lucky enough to have MSDN accounts, the RTM of Vista SP1. If you have an MSDN subscription you can get it from top downloads page here.(it doesn’t appear to be available in the usual listings yet).

I’m off to SDM

I’ve been off the air for a couple of weeks, I’ve had a couple of weeks off for some quality family time. After my departure from Avanade, I’m looking forward to starting with SDM tomorrow morning. It’s a bit like coming home for me as my new manager is old friend of mine from OBS, Elaine Van Bergen. I chose SDM because they seem to be at the forefront of the Sharepoint world, not to mention the high quality people they seem to have such as Elaine and Aaron Saikovski, who runs the OzMoss List.

I’m really looking forward to getting into some interesting projects and pushing MOSS to the limits over next few months. There should be some pretty interesting post’s here soon.
